Meet the Peers

Get to know our peers

who have either been suggested by their colleagues or volunteered themselves. They went through an organized peer selection process and finished an extensive 28-hour long Peer Training program. Each one of them was highly motivated to join the program and looks forward to contributing to pilots’ well-being personally. Below you can read who they are and why they decided to join the Pilot Peer Support Programme.

CaptainRuta Pleike

I believe that our general well-being and psychological condition directly reflect on our performance at work, CRM skills, overall mood, and even happiness in our life. I recognize the importance of the attention given to pilot mental health, which is why I am willing to join the Peer Support Program as a Peer.

I am very interested in the psychological aspects of flight crew training and operations. While using my present experience and knowledge, I want to help my colleagues and contribute to safe flight operations.

I was attracted by the Peer Support Program simply because of its 3 magical words! The word “Peer” describes my extrovert social beliefs in connecting with others. The word “Support” describes my view in building give-and-take relationships with them. The word “Program” describes my attitude in troubleshooting any issue in a structured and systemic manner. Peer Support Program… it’s me!

I am here in Pilot Support program, because everyone may have their individual concerns or go through a change in life, such as illness, family difficulties, etc. No matter the cause of the challenges one is facing – a conversation with a pilot peer who is “in the same boat” can support or at least ease the tension.

CaptainDaniel Bilek

I’m a pilot with nearly 30 years of experience in diverse cultural settings. Driven by a longstanding interest in psychological aspects of the job and mental well-being in aviation, I’ve joined as a pilot peer to offer support. Let’s navigate the skies together – addressing not only the technical aspects but also the emotional well-being of our aviation community, fostering resilience and safety.

First OfficerFederico Maria Nobili

I believe everyone occasionally needs support.
It’s crucial to have a safe space where you can express how you feel and get things off your chest.
